When did my medical file become public knowledge?

Why is it that when you are pregnant everyone feels like they are now your doctor? A guy at work told me to stop drinking water out of plastic containers because it will give me and my baby cancer. When I was at the temple, the sealer wouldn't let me kneel for long periods of time due to my situation. Today at the convenience store across the street, the clerk was shocked to find out I didn't know what brand of prenatal vitamins I was taking and told me to start drinking fish oil.
I realize that everyone is just trying to be nice and I do appreciate when I am offered a chair or someone helps carry something heavy, but I am tired of being looked at as a nothing more than a carrier. I am a person who has interests other than the child growing inside of me.
Anyway, I'm just venting.

Hahaha, I'm so sorry, but I think it comes with the belly. My SIL came up with really fun come backs to all comments, I'll find some to inspire you ;-)
Now, about that nice temple worker...I passed out a few times doing sealings at the Seattle Temple, I might have traumatized the man.

Why am I taking fish oil? I'm not having a baby! Or at least I don't think I'm having a baby.

Okay I'd draw the line at fish oil. That's just disgusting. You're not growing Nemo in there. But just wait until people start patting your belly (slap me if I do that). Or giving you advice (which you won't need because you'll be awesome parents). Or giving you dirty looks because you dare to bring your 4 kids to Target when (gasp) OTHER PEOPLE ARE THERE TOO.

I'm now feeling really guilty about this post. I don't mean to be so negative.

As far as the fish oil goes, I would take it if that is what my licensed doctor wanted me to do. I'm not going to run out and get some because a clerk at a convenience store told me to.

hahaha, it'll get worse. Soon, random strangers will begin touching your stomach. I found that to be the most annoying part about it. Just wait, it only gets worse... breastfeeding, immunizations, cold medications.....

Don't feel bad, my coworkers used to have to drag me away from people before I got a chance to rip their annoying heads off.

all I'm going to say is welcome to motherhood, you will always just be a carrier...not to be too depressing...

Yes, pregnancy is your 10 month introduction into having people tell you what is best for your child.
Don't feel bad about venting. Being pregnant sucks. Yeah, yeah, it's a miracle and wonderful and everything, but it still just sucks most of the time.

In no time the comments will all be about how cute your baby is. When you're pregnant people just feel they must say something and unfortunately they don't always think before speaking. I once had a guy tell me I looked like I was going to blow at any second. Luckily I can laugh about it now.

I take fish oil, so I have beautiful skin. It helps with dry skin and dry scalp issues. Maybe my hair follicles are growing tiny babies or tiny fish now.
